General Fund and Annual Pledge Campaign
The Stewardship Campaign at Johns Island Presbyterian Church is held annually, typically in the Fall when we ask our members to pledge a fixed amount to the general activities of the church for the following calendar year. Each year approximately 80% of our annual needs are committed at the time of the Stewardship Campaign. Our annual budget of nearly $600,000 is supported by approximately 190 families, giving an average of $3,200 per year. Giving and donations can be made at any time during the year, although participation in the Stewardship Campaign and pledging to support the church helps us to establish our annual church budget. JIPC offers several options to donate to the church. We accept cash and checks and provide offering envelopes upon request. For those members who prefer direct deposit, we offer secured ACH and debit/credit card transactions. Endowment Fund and Building Fund
Our Endowment Fund and corresponding Building Fund were established for the purposes of supporting our Historic 300 year old Sanctuary and facilities as an extension of the churches benevolent programs into perpetuity.
The Endowment Fund is capable of handling individualized gift giving as well as Will and Trust distributions. With the IRS tax changes regarding IRA required distributions after age 70 ½, the Internal Revenue Service states that a check from an IRA may be made payable to a Church organization described in section 408(d)(8) and delivered by the IRA owner to the charitable organization.
